Cumberland County Schools' Strategic Planning Process
Shaping Our Future Together: Cumberland County Schools Strategic Planning (2026–2031)
Cumberland County Schools is leading a community-driven process throughout this school year (2025-2026) to develop a new strategic plan to guide our work and ensure we provide a safe, positive and rigorous learning environment to prepare lifelong learners to reach their maximum potential. We’re excited to partner with our students, families, staff, and community to shape the CCS Strategic Plan for 2026–2031. This plan will help us build a shared set of core beliefs, set clear goals, align our work, and hold ourselves accountable and reflect the will and vision of our community. Together, we’ll create a roadmap that supports every learner and child in Cumberland County Schools.
Process
We will follow a three-phase process as outlined in the graphic below:
Steering Committee
We are convening a Steering Committee of stakeholders who will meet throughout the 2025-2026 school year to guide the strategic planning process. Our steering committee includes teachers, parents, principals, community members, central service staff, classified staff, businesses, military representatives, board members and other key stakeholders. Learn about the Steering Committee members here.
Feedback
Watch for opportunities on this website throughout the year to provide your input and feedback via focus groups, questionnaires and other means. We welcome and value all feedback to guide our new plan and ensure every student will have a fair opportunity to access engaging learning that prepares them to be collaborative, competitive and successful in our global world.
